Please note: The demo hasn't been changed since the date that the game was released. There are hundreds of things that were fixed in one of the many patches to the game, not to mention all the new spells, units and nations that have since been added. The tutorial that comes with the demo and the game walks a user through the first couple of turns so that he doesn't get lost in the plethora of options available.

Even after years of playing the game, veteran players still spend hours and hours designing strategies for nations. There are so many things to be weighed and considered. However, the game is pretty good about not overkilling and adding superfluous amounts of unnecessary and potentially game wrecking material. The spells and items in the game are designed with quality, not quantity. Each nation in the game has access to a limited number of these things and has specific and peculiar combination of them in addition to their own personal line up of units, thus each nation is a very unique affair.
